REVIEW: THE CORPSE OF ANNA FRITZ (2015)
by Elena Anele (*)
THE CORPSE OF ANNA FRITZ is a Spanish Horror movie from 2015 directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens (Day of the Dead: Bloodline), also responsible for the screenplay together with Isaac P. Creus. It was made in L’Hospitalet del Llobregat, Barcelona, and premiered at South by Southwest Film Fest.
Anna Fritz (Alba Ribas) is a famous actress who has just passed away and whose corpse is kept in a hospital morgue waiting for an autopsy. There a youngster works in the night shift and some friends of his pay him a visit. Fascinated by the idea of seeing the celebrity dead body, they convinced the guy to lead them to the room. In there gruesome things will happen such as necrophilia, murder, revenge, betrayals…
This is a cheap but amazing movie, really disgusting, gory, and thrilling. It keeps you awake for some days and makes you shiver with nausea more than once.
Any horror fans must watch this. Just saying.
It is available on some Spanish VOD platforms. It was released on DVD and BR -including English subtitles- in April 2016 so there may be still some copies available.
