UPCOMING FILM: CAYE CASAS’S AMOR DE PADRE

Subsequent to the global impact of his acclaimed black-comedy thriller The Coffee Table (La mesita del comedor), Spanish filmmaker Caye Casas has returned to short format horror with Amor de padre. Known for his signature mix of brutal tension, dark humor, and extreme psychological terror, Casas’ latest work is a visceral, bloody exploration of toxic family dynamics and unresolved grief.
The story centers on Cayetana, a young woman who arrives at her family’s secluded home to say a final goodbye to her dying father. Having shared a strained and dysfunctional relationship with him throughout her life, her attempt at a peaceful farewell quickly devolves into a dark, unexpected nightmare as the toxic atmosphere in the house takes a horrifying turn.
Written by Caye Casas with musical scoring by Bambikina, the short features a strong Spanish genre cast including Christina Rapado, Assumpta Serna, Emilio Gavira, Amaia Fernández, and Ángela Fernández. Shot on location in a secluded mansion in Cenicientos (Madrid), Father’s Love is produced as an intense 11-minute survival horror experience designed to challenge genre festival audiences worldwide.
