THE MOTIVE (AKA EL AUTOR) is a black comedy directed by Manuel Martín Cuenca with actors Javier Gutiérrez, Antonio de la Torre and María León.

It is based on Javier Cercas novel called EL MÓVIL and it will be at theaters on Novermber 17.

SYNOPSIS

When Alvaro separates from his wife, a highly successful, best-selling author, he decides to realize his own dream of writing a great novel. But he has one big problem; he lacks talent and imagination… until one day he figures out that great fiction is drawn from reality. Alvaro starts to manipulate his friends and neighbors in order to develop a plot, but as his tampering gets out of hand, his true story looks set to have a grizzly ending…
