REVIEW: NO MATARAS AKA CROSS THE LINE
NO MATARAS (2019) is David Victori’s first feature film as a director. He is the writer of the Spanish Films Second Origin (2015) and Son of Cain (2013), director and writer of award-winning short films worldwide, including Reaction (2008) The Guilt (2010) and Zero (2015) produced by Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender and also responsible of a TV Show called Flatline (2017).
He wrote NO MATARAS together with Clara Viola and Jordi Vallejo (El Inocente).
The main star is Mario Casas, who plays the role of Dani, a young man who has just lost his father and his mission in life as he was responsible for his care. His life is a boring one and one day, as he was considering going into adventure, meets a girl in a diner. This is going to be nothing, but trouble and he will be involved in serious crime.
I quite like the movie, for the first time, I can say Mario Casas was fantastic and even though of a quiet beginning the movie is really thrilling. Amazingly built it is a story that will keep you awake and in tension. There are some good twisting plots.
It was available on some VOD platforms but now it seems to have been canceled. I hope soon it will be up again.
