TOP 5: MARIANO OZORES MOVIES

Mariano Ozores has been one of the most popular Spanish directors of our times. He made several comedies but it is true that he worked on almost every cinema genre with great box office results. Yesterday he was given the Honorary Goya Award and that is why I wanted to share my Top 5 with you all:
1. LA HORA INCÓGNITA (1964)

A rocket, due to a technical problem, is out of orbit and it is believed to land in a Spanish village. The place is supposed to be emptied but for different reasons some inhabitants decided to stay there….
2. LOS BINGUEROS (1979)

Amadeo is a middling bank employee that will never be wealthy. Fermín has no future, he is unemployed, he makes ends meet thanks to odd jobs and book sales. They think Bingo will be the answer for all their problems… but they soon will become addicted and feel trapped by gambling.
3. LAS DOS Y MEDIA Y… VENENO (1959)

Don Seven has wasted his niece’s legacy, the one he only had to administer. A million pesetasos left to be given to her when he dies so he together with his niece and nephews wanted to scam his death with a fake certificate, but some of his relatives do not want it to be just fake…
4. YO HICE A ROQUE III (1984)

Roque is a sponger who lives at Federico’s house, a famous ex-jockey who need to lose some weight. It is a parody of Stallone’s Rocky.
5. NOSOTROS, LOS DECENTES (1976)

A seller contracts a young woman to take care of his ill wife. He immediately falls in love with her…. A perfect example of what is is called El destape, kind of soft-core cinema that became very famous after Franco’s death.
