Iván Sáinz-Pardo (SCHNECKENTRAUN, LA MIRADA CIRCULAR) is one of most important Spanish short- movie directors. SAVE is one of his latest works, a supernatural story with which he won ECAM Best Director award at NotodoFilmFest. A well-deserved award.
SAVE follows the trend many eastern –and some western(LIGHTS OUT)- shorts are setting: short supernatural horror movies highlighting its atmosphere and surprising plot twist. However, Iván Sáinz-Pardo turns its movie in a style practice behind the camera, shooting in a sequence shot and searching for suspense instead of a final thrill. The result is a film that pretends to distress in a -very Hitchcocknian- classic way and not through short fast shots.
