SHORT OF THE MONTH: PERPETUUM IMMOBILE
By Rubén Íñiguez Pérez
Directed by Marc Martí
Cast : María José Donzel, Marc Escrig
PERPETUUM IMMOBILE has a huge visual impact fed mainly from avant- gard mute cinema. It also reminds of Spanish classics from the 90s as Nacho Cerdà’s Triology of Death or Jaume Balaguero’s Alicia. All works in which image is more powerful than the rest of the elements.
Shot in Super8 it is a minimalist film narratively and aesthetically speaking. Its purpose is to make the audience feel the nightmare. Marc Martí creates an atmosphere that takes you to that anguished feeling. It will make your hair stand on end in only 3 minutes…
